The Magic Pool of Dreams
Lily loved helping her grandmother in the garden. Every Saturday, they would plant seeds, water the flowers, and pick vegetables for dinner. But Lily's favorite part was the spinach patch at the back of the garden, where the leaves grew as big as dinner plates.
One sunny afternoon, Lily noticed something strange. A tiny door had appeared at the base of the old palm tree that stood guard over the garden. The palm's leaves seemed to be pointing toward the door, as if trying to tell her something.
Curious, Lily knelt down and pushed the door open. Inside, she found a spiral staircase leading down into the earth. At the bottom, she discovered the most beautiful pool she had ever seen. The water sparkled like diamonds, and tiny fish made of rainbow light swam in circles.
"Welcome, young friend," said a soft voice.
Lily looked around and saw a small green fairy sitting on a lily pad. "I'm Fern! This is the Pool of Dreams. Whatever you wish for with a pure heart will come true."
Lily thought carefully. She didn't wish for toys or candy. Instead, she wished that her grandmother's garden would bloom forever, so everyone could feel the joy she felt when working in the soil.
The pool began to glow. Fern sprinkled something into the water—spinach leaves! The spinach swirled around, turning the water a brilliant emerald green.
"Spinach is the vegetable of growth and strength," Fern explained. "Your selfless wish has activated its magic."
Suddenly, vines shot up from the ground, covered in beautiful flowers. The pool overflowed with sparkling water that watered all the plants automatically. The palm tree above shook its leaves in delight.
Lily climbed back up the staircase, her heart full of wonder. She ran to tell her grandmother, but when they returned to the palm tree, the tiny door had vanished.
But something magical had happened. The garden was now the most beautiful in all the land, with flowers that never faded and vegetables that grew back as soon as they were picked. Lily knew that the Pool of Dreams had granted her wish, and she visited the garden every day, grateful for the magic of kindness.
