The Magic Pool in the Woods

Lily pushed through the tall grass, her teddy bear tucked under her arm. It was their secret adventure time.

Behind her house, the woods held mysteries. Today, she found something new—a sparkling pool hidden between ancient trees. The water shimmered like liquid sunshine, even though the forest was shadowed and cool.

She knelt beside it, Bear clutched tight. The pool didn't show her reflection. Instead, it showed a magical world beneath the surface—glowing fish, colorful castles, and creatures that danced and played.

"Wow," she whispered.

Suddenly, a groaning sound echoed through the trees. Lily gasped as a green figure stumbled into view—a zombie! Its eyes were googly, its stitches crooked, and one arm flopped loosely at its side.

She grabbed Bear and scrambled backward. But the zombie didn't attack. It waved, then tripped over its own feet and tumbled into the pool with a splash.

Green fabric floated away. A little green frog hopped out, shaking water from its bumpy skin. It looked up at her with big, kind eyes.

"Oh!" Lily laughed. "It was a costume!"

The pool's magic had shown the truth. The frog croaked gratefully, then jumped onto Bear's fluffy head. They were friends now.

From that day on, Lily visited the magical pool every afternoon. She learned that things aren't always what they seem, and kindness reveals the truth. Even the scariest appearances can hide something wonderful—like a lonely frog wearing a Halloween costume, waiting for someone to see past the disguise and become a friend.

And Bear? He became the guardian of their secret, a fuzzy witness to magic and friendship in the deep, enchanted woods.
