The Magic Pool Beyond the Screen

Lily loved her iPhone. She spent hours tapping and swiping, watching videos and playing games. But one rainy afternoon, something strange happened. As she opened her camera app, the screen shimmered like sunlight on water.

Through the glowing screen, Lily saw her own backyard transform. The old oak tree sparkled with tiny lights. Flowers stretched their petals toward her, waving hello. And there, beside the garden, stood the most magnificent creature she had ever seen.

A bull with emerald-green fur and golden horns stood by what looked like a swimming pool. But this pool glowed with soft blue light, like moonlight turned liquid.

"Come through, Lily," the bull spoke in a voice like rumbled thunder. "We've been waiting for someone with enough wonder to see us."

Lily reached through her iPhone screen—her hand actually went through! She stepped into a world more colorful than any video game.

"I'm Barnaby," said the bull warmly. "Welcome to the Garden of Wishes. This pool shows you your heart's true desire. And these..." He gestured to neat rows of leafy green plants, "are magic spinach leaves. Each one grants a different wish."

Lily looked at the pool's shimmering surface. She saw herself—not playing on her phone, but planting seeds, painting pictures, and exploring the real world with friends.

"I wish..." Lily whispered, "I wish I didn't need my phone to feel happy."

Barnaby nodded and offered her a sparkling spinach leaf. "Sometimes the most magical thing is discovering the wonder that was always inside you."

Lily ate the leaf. It tasted like sunshine and rainbows mixed together. Suddenly, she noticed things she'd never seen before—the intricate pattern on a butterfly's wings, the way clouds formed stories in the sky, the music of wind chimes she'd never heard before.

When Lily stepped back through her iPhone into her room, everything had changed. Her phone was still just a phone, but the whole world had become magical.

She ran outside to plant her own garden, confident that real adventures were waiting right outside her door—no screen required.
