The Magic Pool at Midnight
Luna was a small golden dog with floppy ears and a very big imagination. Every night, while her family slept, she dreamed of adventures. But one warm summer night, something magical happened.
Luna heard a soft splash coming from the backyard. She crept outside and gasped. The old swimming pool, usually empty and dark, was glowing with shimmering blue light. It looked like a piece of the moon had fallen right into her yard!
Curious, Luna stepped closer. A wet nose poked through the surface—a friendly bear wearing a tiny silver crown!
"Hello!" the bear said. "I'm Bruno. Would you like to see my world?"
Bruno explained that the magic pool was a doorway between worlds. Every hundred years, it opened for one night only. Luna hesitated, but Bruno's warm smile made her feel brave.
"Jump in!" Bruno said.
Luna squeezed her eyes shut and leaped. Instead of water, she floated through sparkling light. When she opened her eyes, she stood in a forest where trees were made of crystal and flowers sang soft songs.
Bruno showed her everything—rivers of lemonade, mountains of candy, and butterflies that told jokes. Luna had never been so happy. But as the first ray of sunlight appeared, Bruno looked sad.
"The magic is fading," he said. "You must go home."
Luna didn't want to leave her new friend. Then she had an idea.
"Next time the pool opens," she promised, "I'll bring my favorite ball, and we can play together!"
Bruno's face lit up. "I'll wait for you, Luna. True friends always find each other again."
Luna woke up in her own bed, the morning sun streaming through her window. Had it all been a dream? But when she looked at her paws, they were still sparkling with tiny bits of magic dust.
From that night on, Luna wasn't just a dog with dreams. She was a dog with a promise—and somewhere, in another world, a bear was waiting for his best friend to return.
And sometimes, if you look very closely at the old pool on summer nights, you can still see it glow, just a little bit. Magic never really disappears. It just waits for someone brave enough to believe in it.
