The Magic Pool

Lily loved helping her grandmother in the garden. But one sunny afternoon, she discovered something extraordinary behind the old oak tree—a shimmering pool she'd never noticed before.

The water sparkled like diamonds, and around its edge grew the most vibrant green spinach leaves she'd ever seen. They glowed with a soft, magical light.

"Hello!" called a tiny voice. A small green frog with silver spots hopped onto a spinach leaf. "I'm Splash! Are you here to see the magic?"

Lily's eyes widened. "You can talk!"

"Only when someone pure of heart visits my pool," Splash said. "This isn't ordinary water. It's the Pool of Dreams, where wishes come true—but only for those who believe."

He hopped closer. "Would you like to make a wish?"

Lily thought carefully. "I wish my grandmother could feel better. She's been so tired lately."

Splash smiled and touched his nose to the water. Ripples of silver spread across the pool. The spinach leaves began to glow even brighter.

"Your wish will come true," Splash promised. "But now you must promise me something."

"Anything!"

"Come back often. Everyone needs a friend, and magical places need visitors to keep their magic strong."

Lily visited the pool every day that summer. She and Splash became the best of friends. She'd bring him stories, and he'd show her wonderful things—how the spinach could heal, how the water could grant wishes, and how the forest creatures all helped care for the magical pool.

Her grandmother grew stronger each day. When she asked why Lily looked so happy, Lily just smiled.

"I have a friend who taught me that magic is real," she said. "And the best magic of all is friendship."

Behind the oak tree, the pool continued to shimmer, waiting for the next child who believed in dreams.
