The Magic Pitch at Sunset Pool

Leo loved baseball more than anything. He could hit a fastball flying past his ear and catch a pop-up with his eyes closed. But swimming? That was different.

"Come on, Leo!" his friend Mia called from the edge of the pool. "The water's perfect!"

Leo dipped his toe in. The cool water rippled around his foot, sparkling like diamonds in the afternoon sun. He took a deep breath and slid in.

Suddenly, the world changed.

Under the surface, colors danced everywhere. The pool wasn't just a pool anymore—it was an underwater kingdom! Fish with rainbow scales darted around him like tiny baseballs flying through the air.

A dolphin with a blue baseball cap swam over. "Hey! You must be the new player!"

"Player?" Leo bubbled.

"For the Splash League!" The dolphin flipped a baseball—yes, a real baseball!—through the water as if it were floating in zero gravity. "We need someone who can hit. The fish team keeps winning."

Leo's eyes widened. He was a champion baseball player on land! But in water?

The dolphin tossed the ball. Leo swung his arms through the water—whoosh! His hand connected with the floating baseball, and it went soaring toward the other end of the pool.

"HOME RUN!" the sea creatures cheered. Bubbles rose like confetti.

For hours, Leo played underwater baseball with his new friends. He learned that moving through water made everything slow and graceful, like dancing instead of running. He wasn't scared anymore—he was flying!

When he finally surfaced, the sun was setting, painting the sky orange and pink. Mia was waiting.

"You were underwater forever!" she laughed. "Did you learn to swim?"

Leo grinned, water dripping from his hair like tiny diamonds. "I did more than swim. I discovered that trying something new can be the greatest adventure of all."

That night, Leo dreamed of underwater home runs and rainbow fish. Some doors lead to the most magical places—you just have to dive in.
