The Magic Papaya Party
Lila loved swimming in the ocean, especially when the sun painted the water gold. One morning, something pink and round washed up on the sand—a papaya the size of a beach ball!
"What's this?" Lila wondered. The papaya shimmered like it held magic inside.
Suddenly, the papaya split open with a sparkle, and out popped three tiny creatures with green skin and purple hair. They did a funny wobble dance, arms stretched stiff, legs shuffling side to side.
"We're the Zippy Zombies!" cheered the smallest one. "But don't worry—we're not scary. We just LOVE to dance!" They wiggled and jiggled, making Lila giggle so hard she snorted.
"I'm Lila. Want to go swimming?"
"YES!" shouted all three Zippy Zombies together.
Lila held her new friends as they splashed into the crystal blue water. The zombies showed her their secret swim trick: they could float like bouncy corks and zoom through the waves like little torpedoes!
For hours, they played hide-and-seek behind coral reefs and raced sea turtles. The zombies taught Lila their silly wobble dance underwater, sending bubbles everywhere.
As the sun began to set, Lila's friends grew tired. "The papaya magic only lasts one day," they said sadly. "But we had the BEST time."
Lila hugged each one. "Me too. Being different makes you special, not scary."
The Zippy Zombies popped back into their papaya home, now shrunk to tiny size. Lila carried it to her garden and planted the seeds.
"Maybe next summer," she whispered, "more Zippy Zombies will come visit."
Every morning, Lila checked her papaya patch, dreaming of new friends and new adventures. Some days, she still did the Zippy Zombie wobble dance while swimming, just to make the ocean laugh.
And sometimes, if you listen closely at sunset, you can hear the ocean giggling too.
