The Magic Palm Tree

Once there was a bull named Barnaby who lived on a sunny farm. Barnaby wasn't like other bulls. He didn't like to run or buck or snort. instead, he loved to sit under the old palm tree and dream.

One day, something peculiar happened. A lopsided figure shuffled out of the nearby forest. It looked green and bumpy, with leaves stuck in its hair. The other animals gasped—it was a zombie!

But this zombie wasn't scary at all. He waved shyly and said, "Hello, I'm Zed. I'm looking for friends."

Barnaby's heart went out to Zed. "Come sit under my palm tree," he called. "It's the best spot for dreaming."

Zed sat down, and leaves and flowers tumbled out of his pockets. "I'm a garden zombie," he explained. "I was cursed by a grumpy wizard because I loved planting flowers more than casting spells. Now I'm always dropping plants everywhere!"

Barnaby smiled. "That's not a curse. That's a gift!" He reached up to the palm tree above them. "This tree has magic coconuts. They can grant wishes."

Zed's eyes widened. "Really?"

"Really," said Barnaby. "I've been saving my wish. I wish for a friend who loves plants as much as I do. I think my wish already came true."

The palm tree shivered, and three golden coconuts dropped down. When they cracked open, instead of milk inside, there were tiny seeds that glowed like stars.

"Plant them," whispered Barnaby.

Zed buried the seeds carefully. Within moments, beautiful rainbow flowers sprang up, covering the zombie's green skin with petals of every color. The grumpy wizard's curse lifted, and Zed became a normal boy again—one who still loved plants more than anything.

From that day on, Barnaby, Zed, and the magical palm tree were the best of friends. They learned that the things that make us different are often the things that make us special. And sometimes, the scariest-looking strangers are just friends you haven't met yet.
