The Magic Palm's Secret

Mittens the cat lived under the most special palm tree in the world. Every night when the moon came out, the palm tree's leaves would sparkle like tiny stars.

One evening, Mittens heard a splash in the small pond beneath the tree. She crept closer and saw something amazing—a little goldfish glowing with golden light!

"Hello, friend," whispered the goldfish. "I'm the magic keeper of this palm tree. Once every hundred years, it grows one magic vitamin that can grant any wish."

Mittens gasped. High above them, a single golden fruit had appeared on the palm tree.

Suddenly, a grumpy old bull stomped out from the woods. Everyone in the village feared him because he always looked so angry. But the bull wasn't looking at them—he was gazing sadly at the magic vitamin.

"What's wrong?" asked Mittens bravely.

The bull sighed. "Long ago, I was a statue in a garden. Nobody noticed me until one child left me a flower every day. That friendship woke me up, but I still can't leave this land. I wish I could explore the world beyond."

Mittens looked at the magic vitamin, then at the lonely bull. She could have wished for anything—more fish, a cozy bed, endless treats.

Instead, she climbed the palm tree, picked the golden vitamin, and placed it gently before the bull.

"Your wish matters too," she purred.

The bull ate it, and suddenly his sad eyes lit up with joy. "Thank you, little friend. Now I can finally see the mountains and oceans I've only heard about in stories."

Before leaving, the bull touched his nose to Mittens' forehead. "You gave me the greatest gift—kindness. That's the real magic."

The goldfish shimmered. "The palm tree knew you would choose wisely."

That night, Mittens slept under the sparkly palm tree, the happiest cat in the world. She had discovered that the best wishes aren't the ones you make for yourself—they're the ones you make for others.
