The Magic Padel of Friendship
Lily loved her grandfather's old padel. It wasn't a regular paddle—it had sparkles that shimmered like stardust, and her grandpa said it was magical. "Swing it three times under a full moon," he whispered, "and it will take you somewhere wonderful."
One starry night, Lily swung the padel. WHOOSH! She tumbled through a rainbow swirl and landed in a land where purple clouds floated like cotton candy.
A towering sphinx with golden wings blocked her path. "Answer my riddle, little one," it rumbled kindly. "What has hands but cannot clap?"
Lily thought hard. "A clock!"
"Correct!" The sphinx smiled. "I am Sphinxie, guardian of friendships. I've been waiting for someone kind enough to play with my lonely friend."
Behind a crystal cave emerged a green zombie—but not a scary one! He wore a polka-dot bowtie and held a wilted flower. "I'm Zommy," he said shyly. "Everyone runs away because I look different."
Lily smiled warmly. "You look friendly to me! Want to play?"
Sphinxie clapped with joy. "The magic padel brought you here because your heart is pure!"
They spent the night playing magical games. Zommy wasn't clumsy—he was graceful! Sphinxie told ancient stories that made the stars dance. Lily swung her padel, and each swing created fireworks of friendship.
"Why were you lonely?" Lily asked Zommy.
"Because people judge by appearances," he said sadly. "But you saw ME."
Lily hugged her new friends. "My grandpa taught me that true friends see hearts, not faces."
As dawn approached, Sphinxie nodded. "It's time, but you'll always find us when you swing the magic padel. Remember: the best friend you can make is someone who needs one most."
Lily swung home, heart full of magic. She had discovered something more precious than enchantment—that sometimes the scariest-looking creatures have the kindest hearts, and a real friend is someone who sees YOU.
Now every full moon, Lily still swings her magic padel, knowing that in a land of purple clouds, a sphinx and a zombie are waiting to play with their very best friend.
