The Magic Padel Ball
Lily loved summer. She loved the warm sun on her face and the cool splash of the neighborhood pool. But most of all, she loved padel – the bouncy game with rackets and a bright blue ball.
One hot afternoon, Lily met a new boy named Marco at the park. He held a padel racket awkwardly, his head ducked low.
"I don't know how to play," he mumbled.
Lily smiled. "I'll teach you! Being a friend means helping each other learn."
They practiced for hours. Marco missed every ball at first. Lily never laughed – she just cheered, "Almost! Try again!" By sunset, Marco hit his first perfect shot.
"You did it!" Lily shouted.
But then Marco's ball sailed over the fence – straight into the swimming pool next door. It bobbed in the middle of the deep water.
"Oh no," Marco whispered. "I can't swim well enough to reach it."
Lily thought hard. The fence was too high to climb. The pool gate was locked. What could they do?
Then she noticed something magical. The pool water began to glow blue, just like the padel ball. Ripples danced across the surface, forming letters:
TRUE FRIENDS CAN DO THE IMPOSSIBLE
"Look!" Lily cried.
She grabbed her padel racket and held it toward the glowing pool. Marco did the same. Together, they leaned their rackets over the fence, stretching them as far as they could reach.
"Ready?" Lily asked.
"Ready!" Marco nodded.
They pushed their rackets together, forming a V shape in the air. The magic water rose up in a shimmering arc, flowing toward their rackets – and floating on top of that enchanted water was Marco's blue ball!
It landed gently in Marco's hand.
"Thank you, Lily," Marco beamed. "For teaching me padel. For being my friend."
"That's what friends do," Lily said as the glowing water returned to normal. "We help each other – even when things seem impossible."
The next day, Marco taught Lily how to make friendship bracelets. Their favorite colors? Blue like a padel ball, and shimmering like magic water.
