The Magic Orange Tree

Lily was the smallest girl in her class, but she had the biggest imagination. Every day after school, she would visit her secret spot behind the old library — a tiny garden where something magical grew.

There, hidden among the weeds, was the most peculiar orange tree Lily had ever seen. Its branches glowed softly like moonlight, and its oranges weren't just orange — they shimmered with rainbow sparkles.

"Hello, little friend," whispered the tree, its voice sounding like wind chimes.

Lily jumped, then smiled. She had been waiting for this moment. Her grandmother had told her stories about the Magic Vitamin Tree, which appeared only to children with pure hearts.

"Are you real?" Lily asked, reaching out to touch a glowing orange.

"As real as friendship," the tree replied. "Each orange I grow contains a special vitamin — not for your body, but for your spirit. Kindness-Vitamin, Courage-Vitamin, Wonder-Vitamin. Which one would you like?"

Lily thought carefully. In school, she had been too shy to speak up, even when she wanted to make friends. "Could I have a Bravery-Vitamin?"

The tree's leaves rustled with laughter. "Of course, dear child. But remember — the magic works only when you share it."

Lily plucked the brightest orange, which pulsed with golden light. She took it to school the next day and saw a new boy sitting alone at lunch. His name was Marcus, and he looked lonely.

Her hands trembled, but Lily remembered the tree's words. She walked over and split her magical orange in half. "Would you like to share this with me?"

Marcus's eyes widened as the orange's sparkles danced between them. When they both took a bite, warmth filled their hearts.

"Wow," Marcus whispered. "I feel... brave."

"Me too," Lily beamed.

From that day on, Lily and Marcus became best friends. And sometimes, when they visited the secret garden together, the Magic Orange Tree would bloom just for them, reminding everyone that the best vitamin of all is the vitamin of friendship.
