The Magic Orange's Secret

Lily loved summer more than anything. Every day, she begged her mother to visit the community pool, where the water sparkled like diamonds under the golden sun.

One Tuesday, Lily's grandmother visited with a special gift—a basket of oranges from her magical garden. "These aren't ordinary oranges," Grandma whispered. "They're filled with extra vitamin magic. But remember, the real magic isn't inside the fruit—it's in how you share it."

Lily was curious. That afternoon, she hurried to the pool, clutching a plump orange in her hand. She noticed a new boy sitting alone on the edge, watching everyone else splash and play. His name was Marcus, and he wore a shy smile.

Something magical happened when Lily peeled her orange. The scent filled the air, and suddenly, the pool water began to glow with soft rainbow colors. Marcus gasped.

"I've never seen swimming like this," Marcus said softly. "I wish I could swim, but I'm still learning."

Lily's orange halves seemed to shimmer. She remembered Grandma's words and made a choice. She handed one half to Marcus.

"Try this first," Lily said. "My grandma says it has special vitamin power for brave swimmers."

Marcus's eyes lit up. Together they ate the orange, then waded into the glowing water side by side. Lily showed Marcus how to float like a starfish, blow bubbles like a fish, and kick his legs like a little frog. The pool seemed to sparkle even brighter as they laughed and splashed.

By sunset, Marcus could swim across the shallow end all by himself.

"The orange really was magical!" Marcus exclaimed.

Lily smiled, understanding now what Grandma meant. The magic wasn't just in the fruit's vitamins—it was in friendship, kindness, and believing in each other.

That summer, Lily and Marcus became the best of friends, sharing many magical oranges and helping other swimmers find their courage. The pool stayed perfectly ordinary, but to them, it would always be enchanted.
