The Magic Orange Palm

Lila loved visiting her grandmother's house, especially the garden with its ancient palm tree. One sunny afternoon, while climbing the tree's rough trunk, she spotted something peculiar—a coiled cable hidden among the fronds, shimmering like liquid silver.

"What's this?" Lila wondered, tugging gently. To her amazement, the cable glowed warmer and began to hum a soft melody.

Her grandmother appeared, smiling knowingly. "Ah, you've found the Sunshine Cable! It connects our palm tree to the Great Orange in the sky—the sun itself!"

Lila's eyes widened. "Really?"

"Indeed," Grandmother nodded. "Every orange that grows on this tree contains a special vitamin—Vitamin Wonder—that makes children's imaginations shine bright. But you must promise to use it kindly."

Lila promised, and that night, she ate the glowing orange. Instantly, her curly hair began to sparkle with tiny lights that swirled and danced like fireflies.

The next day at school, Lila noticed her friend Leo was sad. His dog had run away, and he couldn't find him anywhere. Lila remembered Grandmother's words about using Vitamin Wonder kindly.

She closed her eyes and concentrated. The sparkles in her hair flowed outward, forming a golden path that led behind the school. There, whining softly, was Leo's dog, stuck in a hole!

Leo hugged Lila. "How did you know?"

"My hair told me," she whispered, and her magical sparkles danced between them.

From that day on, Lila used her gift to help others—finding lost toys, comforting scared children, and making everyone's dreams a little brighter.

Grandmother was right. The real magic wasn't in the Vitamin Wonder at all. It was in using your gifts to bring joy to others. And that, Lila learned, was the most powerful magic of all.
