The Magic Orange at the Bottom of the Sea
Ollie was a little sea otter who loved floating on his back, but he was afraid of deep water. While his friends splashed and dove into the mysterious blue depths below, Ollie stayed near the surface, clutching his favorite rock.
"Come down with us!" called his best friend Marina, a sparkly fish with scales like rainbows. "The deep water is full of treasures!"
Ollie shook his head. "It's too dark down there."
One sunny morning, something round and bright came tumbling through the water — an orange! It glowed like a piece of the sun itself. Ollie had never seen anything so beautiful. He chased it downward, kicking his strong tail, swimming deeper than he ever had before.
The orange settled on a bed of soft sand, and Ollie landed beside it. To his surprise, the fruit cracked open, releasing tiny particles that shimmered like stars.
Marina swam up, her eyes wide. "Those are sunshine vitamins!" she whispered. "Oranges capture sunshine and keep it safe inside. When they open, the sunshine vitamins give anyone nearby special powers — like courage!"
Ollie felt something warm spreading through his chest. The sand beneath him wasn't scary anymore. He noticed colorful corals, graceful jellyfish floating like lanterns, and tiny fish darting between sea flowers.
"It's beautiful," Ollie breathed.
Marina nudged him gently. "You were brave enough to follow the orange. That means you were brave enough all along. The sunshine vitamins just helped you see it."
From that day on, Ollie wasn't afraid of the deep water anymore. Sometimes, when he felt nervous, he would remember the glowing orange and the warm feeling of the sunshine vitamins. He learned that true friendship means helping each other find courage, and that the most wonderful discoveries happen when we're brave enough to explore the unknown.
And whenever an orange fell into the sea, all the sea creatures would gather round, grateful for another chance to fill themselves with sunshine and bravery.
