The Magic Orange at Starlight Pool
Leo loved baseball more than anything. Every day after school, he'd grab his glove and run to the community field. But today, something strange happened.
Leo's favorite baseball rolled into the woods behind the field. He chased it deeper and deeper until he found something magical—a shimmering pool that glowed like liquid starlight.
"Wow," Leo whispered.
Sitting on a mossy rock beside the pool was the brightest orange he'd ever seen. It pulsed with golden light, almost like it was breathing.
"That's not just any orange," said a tiny voice. Leo looked down to see a chipmunk wearing a miniature baseball cap. "That's a Courage Vitamin from the magical grove."
"A courage vitamin?" Leo asked.
"Yes! One bite gives you the courage to do what scares you most. But you must use it wisely," the chipmunk warned.
Leo thought about his best friend, Mia. She loved baseball too, but she was too scared to join the team. What if she wasn't good enough? What if everyone laughed?
Leo picked up the glowing orange. "I know who needs this."
He found Mia sitting alone on her front porch, watching other kids play catch.
"Mia, catch!" Leo called, tossing her the magical orange. "It's a special fruit. My grandmother says it gives you bravery when you need it most."
Mia caught it and took a small bite. Her eyes widened. "I feel... like I can do anything!"
That afternoon, Mia joined the baseball tryouts. She hit the ball so far it landed in the pool beyond the outfield. The coach clapped. "We've got a star!"
That evening, Leo returned to the magical pool. The chipmunk was waiting.
"You didn't use the Courage Vitamin for yourself," the chipmunk said. "You gave it away. That's the bravest thing of all."
Leo smiled. He didn't need magic. He'd learned something more important—true friends help each other find their courage.
The pool rippled with approval, turning the color of a perfect sunset orange. And somewhere deep in the magical grove, a new vitamin was growing, waiting for another child who needed to believe in themselves.
