The Magic Orange and the Lonely Zombie

Lily loved walking along the sparkling **water** of Willow Pond with her golden retriever, Buster. The **dog** would bark happily at the ducks and splash his paws in the shallow ripples near the shore.

One sunny afternoon, Buster discovered something strange under an old willow tree. It was the biggest, brightest **orange** Lily had ever seen! But this wasn't just an ordinary orange—it glowed with a soft, magical light.

"Buster, look!" Lily whispered. But Buster wasn't barking at the orange. He was growling at something moving in the shadows beyond the trees.

A sad, greenish figure stumbled out from behind the bushes. It looked like a **zombie**, but not like the scary ones from movies. This one had flowers tangled in its hair and wore a tattered rainbow sweater.

"Please don't be scared," the zombie said in a quiet, raspy voice. "I'm just lonely. Everyone runs away when they see me."

Lily noticed something glowing around the zombie's neck—a dark gray stone that seemed to trap all the color inside.

"I'm Lily, and this is Buster," she said bravely. "What's your name?"

"I can't remember," the zombie sighed, sitting down carefully. "I've been wandering for so long."

The glowing orange in Lily's hand suddenly pulsed brighter! She felt it pulling her toward the zombie.

"I think... I think this orange wants to help you!" Lily said.

The zombie's eyes widened. "That's a Sun-Orange! It grows once every hundred years wherever there's sadness."

Lily held the magical orange toward the zombie's chest. As it touched the gray stone, the orange burst into golden light! The stone cracked open and dissolved into sparkles. Color flooded back into the zombie's face—rosy cheeks, bright blue eyes, and warm brown hair.

"I remember!" the now-beautiful girl cried. "I'm Penny! I was cursed by a grumpy wizard because I wouldn't share my toys!"

Buster licked Penny's hand, and she laughed—the happiest sound in the world.

"Thank you for not being afraid," Penny told Lily. "You taught me that kindness breaks any curse—even the scary ones."

And from that day on, Willow Pond had three best friends who learned that the most magical adventures begin with courage and a kind heart.
