The Magic of Ruby's Pool
Ruby loved summer days, especially the ones spent splashing in her backyard pool. But this summer brought something magical.
One morning, Ruby noticed something strange. Bright green spinach leaves were growing wild around the pool edge, shimmering with tiny sparkles. Then she saw him—a tiny goldfish with scales like sunset clouds, swimming in perfect circles.
"Hello!" Ruby waved.
The goldfish popped his head above water. "I'm Oliver! And you've discovered my magic pool!"
Ruby's eyes went wide. "Magic pool?"
Oliver explained that the spinach wasn't ordinary vegetables—they were moon-garden spinach, planted by fairies long ago. Their sparkles made the water magical, and only kind children could see the wonder.
"But I need your help," Oliver said sadly. "My fish friends are stuck in the old pond nearby. It's drying up!"
Ruby knew exactly what to do. She filled her biggest bucket with pool water and carried it carefully to the old pond, making trip after trip. Each time, Oliver swam beside her, leaving trails of rainbow bubbles.
When all the fish were safe in Ruby's magical pool, Oliver did something amazing. He swam in a big circle, and suddenly, Ruby could hear the fish singing beautiful melodies. The spinach leaves danced to their music.
"Thank you for helping us," Oliver said. "Now we can sing you to sleep every night!"
That summer, Ruby learned that magic isn't just about sparkles and wishes. True magic is kindness, friendship, and helping others—no matter how small they might be.
Every evening, she fell asleep to the sweetest songs, sung by her goldfish friends, while the magical spinach leaves shimmered under the moonlight.
