The Magic of Miller Pond

Lily was seven years old and had a wonderful secret. In the pond behind her house lived a **goldfish** named Fin who could talk!

One sunny afternoon, Lily sat by the water's edge, dangling her feet in the cool water.

"Fin!" she called.

A flash of orange broke the surface. "Hello, Lily! What adventure shall we have today?"

Lily sighed. "There's a **bull** named Barnaby at the farm next door. He's so big and strong, but nobody wants to play with him. The cows say he's too rough, and the sheep run away when he comes near. He looks so lonely."

Fin's shiny scales sparkled with concern. "A friendless heart is the saddest thing in the world. Let's help him!"

"But how?" Lily asked. "He's HUGE!"

Fin swam in a magical circle, creating tiny rainbow ripples. "Close your eyes and cup your hands, Lily."

Lily did as she asked. Suddenly, something warm and glowing appeared in her palms—a special **vitamin** made of stardust and friendship wishes!

"This is a Friendship Vitamin," Fin explained. "It will help Barnaby see how wonderful he truly is."

Lily ran to the fence where Barnaby stood under a shady oak tree. The great bull lowered his massive head, his soft brown eyes full of sadness.

"Hello, Barnaby!" Lily called sweetly. "This is for you."

Barnaby sniffed the glowing tablet. He swallowed it gently, and suddenly—POOF! His whole body shimmered with golden light!

Barnaby smiled, and his smile was like sunshine after rain. He felt lighter, happier, and wonderfully friendly.

"Thank you, little friend," Barnaby rumbled softly. "I feel... special!"

Soon all the farm animals gathered around. Barnaby became their friend and protector, gentle as a lamb despite his enormous size.

That night, Lily and Fin watched the stars twinkle above Miller Pond, knowing that true friendship is the most powerful magic of all.
