The Magic of Halloween Night

Lily's orange cat Pumpkin sat by the window, watching the autumn leaves swirl in the yard. It was Halloween night, and the whole world felt magical.

"Come on, Pumpkin!" Lily whispered, picking up her fluffy brown dog, Cocoa. "Tonight's the night for adventures!"

Lily grabbed her favorite teddy bear from her bed. Bear was old and worn, with one button eye missing, but Lily loved him best.

In the backyard, something strange rustled in the bushes. A figure stumbled out, looking green and tired. It was a zombie! But instead of scary, the zombie looked lonely.

"I'm just misunderstood," the zombie sighed, sitting on a pumpkin. "Everyone runs away from me."

Lily's eyes widened. "You're not scary at all! You're just... different."

Pumpkin the orange cat crept closer and purred, rubbing against the zombie's leg. Cocoa the dog wagged her tail excitedly. Even Bear seemed to smile.

"I'm Zara," the zombie said, her green face lighting up. "I was once a regular girl, but a Halloween spell went wrong. Now I look like this every Halloween night."

Lily gasped. "That's not fair! But you know what? My friends don't care how you look. See?"

Cocoa licked Zara's hand. Pumpkin curled up in her lap. Lily placed Bear beside her.

"Real friends don't care about outside stuff," Lily said. "They care about your heart."

Zara's eyes shimmered. Through the night, they played magical games. The zombie wasn't scary at all—she was funny and kind.

As midnight struck, Zara began to glow.

"Thank you for showing me friendship," she whispered. "You've broken the spell with kindness."

Zara transformed into a beautiful girl with flowing orange hair, exactly like Pumpkin's fur.

"Happy Halloween, friends!" Zara cheered. "I'll never forget you showed me that true friends see with their hearts, not their eyes."

Lily hugged Bear tight as Cocoa barked and Pumpkin purred. The best adventures always start with being kind to someone who needs a friend.
