The Magic in Leo's Palm

Leo sat alone on the front steps, watching the other kids play baseball in the park across the street. He wanted to join them, but he was too shy. His fingers traced circles in his palm, something he did when he felt lonely.

Suddenly, his palm began to glow. A tiny sparkle appeared, then grew into the smallest person Leo had ever seen – no bigger than his thumb! The tiny being had rainbow-colored hair that floated around her head like cotton candy in the wind.

"Hello, Leo!" she squeaked. "I'm Sparkle! I've been waiting for you to open your magical palm."

Leo's eyes widened. "You're real?"

"As real as friendship!" Sparkle did a little dance, her hair swirling. "Would you like to play baseball?"

Leo gasped. "How did you know?"

"Magic knows what your heart wishes," Sparkle said mysteriously.

She waved her tiny hand, and suddenly a baseball appeared in Leo's hand – but this one glowed with golden light. When Leo threw it, the ball sailed higher and farther than any regular baseball. The other kids stopped their game and stared.

"Wow!" a girl named Maya called out. "Can we play with you?"

Sparkle whispered in Leo's ear, "Sometimes, all you need is a little magic – and courage – to make friends."

Leo nodded. The ball brought everyone together, and soon they were all playing the most magical game of baseball ever. The ball changed colors with each throw, and when anyone caught it, they felt warm and happy inside.

That night, Leo fell asleep with Sparkle sleeping in a matchbox beside his bed, her colorful hair glowing softly like a nightlight. He realized that magic had been inside him all along – sometimes, you just need to open your palm, and your heart, to let friendship in.
