The Magic Hat's Secret Garden

Lily loved visiting her grandfather's house. Every summer, she'd spend weeks exploring his dusty attic, filled with mysterious treasures. But her favorite discovery was an old orange hat with a floppy brim, sitting on a wooden shelf.

"What's this hat do, Grandpa?" she asked, holding it carefully.

Her grandfather winked. "That's no ordinary hat, sweetheart. Put it on and look through your iphone camera. You'll see something wonderful."

Lily giggled but slipped on the orange hat. She pulled out her iphone and opened the camera. What she saw made her gasp. The attic wasn't dusty anymore — through the phone's screen, she saw a magical garden glowing with golden light.

"Take a bite of any fruit you see," Grandpa whispered. "But only one, and only when you're truly hungry."

In the magical garden shown on her iphone screen, Lily spotted a papaya tree with sparkling fruit. Her tummy rumbled. She reached toward the screen — and her hand passed right through it!

The papaya was warm and smelled like sunshine. When she took a bite, the most delicious flavor she'd ever tasted filled her mouth. But suddenly, she heard crying from behind a bush.

A tiny fairy sat there, tears falling like pearls. "That was my breakfast!" she sniffled.

Lily's heart sank. She'd taken someone else's food! Quickly, she divided the papaya in half and gave the bigger piece to the fairy. "I'm sorry. I didn't know anyone else needed it."

The fairy stopped crying and smiled. "You shared even when you were hungry. That's the bravest thing." She waved her wand, and suddenly a real papaya appeared in Grandpa's attic. "This is for you. And the magic hat? Keep it. Use its power wisely — to help others, never just yourself."

That summer, Lily used the orange hat and her iphone to find hungry creatures in the magical garden. She shared every fruit she found — oranges that glowed, papayas that sparkled, apples that sang. Every time she gave some away, more appeared in the real world.

When she returned home, her iphone showed just an ordinary attic again. But in her pocket sat the orange hat, and in her basket, more magical papayas than she could count. She'd learned that magic isn't about what you can take — it's about how much you can give.
