Lily found the old velvet hat in her grandmother's attic. It shimmered with tiny stars, even in the dim light. When she placed it on her head, everything changed.

Lily giggled. "Dogs don't talk!"

He led her to a crystal lake where rainbow-colored fish leaped through the air. "This is friendship water," Barnaby explained. "One splash makes anyone your best friend. But only a true friend can find it."
