The Magic Hat and the Friendly Bull

Lily loved exploring her grandmother's attic. One rainy afternoon, she found something peculiar—a thick metal **cable** that seemed to glow faintly in the dusty shadows. It snaked across the floorboards and disappeared through a tiny hole in the wall.

Curious, Lily pulled on the cable. It didn't budge. But when she touched it, warm tingles danced up her fingers. Something magical waited at the other end.

She grabbed her favorite pointy **hat** with the silver stars—perfect for any adventure—and crawled through the hole after the mysterious cable.

On the other side, Lily gasped. She stood in a meadow more beautiful than any she'd seen. Golden flowers glowed like tiny suns. And there, sleeping peacefully under a rainbow tree, was the most magnificent creature she'd ever seen.

A giant **bull** with fur that shimmered like moonlight and horns that curved like crescent moons. But he wasn't scary. His big brown eyes were kind and gentle.

"Hello," Lily whispered.

The bull opened one eye. "Hello, small friend. I've been waiting for someone to follow my cable."

"Your cable?"

"Yes," the bull said, sitting up. "I'm Barnaby, the last Moon Bull. My cable connects your world to ours. But I've been lonely for so very long."

Lily's heart squeezed with sadness. "I'll be your **friend**!"

Barnaby's eyes sparkled. "But you can't stay here. Your world needs you."

Lily had an idea. She placed her magic hat on Barnaby's massive head. "Whenever I wear my hat at home, I'll think of you. And you can think of me!"

The bull's glowing fur brightened. "A friendship hat! I'll treasure it always."

They spent the afternoon playing among the golden flowers. When Lily returned through the wall, she carried a special gift—a moonflower that would never wilt.

Now every time Lily wore her magic hat, she felt Barnaby's warmth across worlds. And somewhere beyond the wall, a Moon Bull wore an invisible hat of friendship, never lonely again.

The best magic, Lily learned, isn't found in cables or hats. It's found in hearts that choose to be friends.
