The Magic Goldfish's Wish

Lily loved running through her backyard on sunny mornings. Her feet patter-pattered across the grass until she reached her favorite spot—the sparkling blue pool where three orange goldfish lived.

"Hello, friends!" she waved each day.

But this morning was different. A shimmering golden glow surrounded the biggest goldfish. Suddenly, it spoke! "Lily, I'm Pearl the Magic Goldfish! I can grant you one wish."

Lily's eyes grew wide. "Really? Like in fairy tales?"

Pearl nodded. "But choose wisely. Magic has rules."

Lily thought hard. She could wish for unlimited candy, or a pony, or no more homework. Then she spotted something floating in the pool—a thick black cable someone had dropped.

"What good is that old cable?" Lily wondered.

"Ah," said Pearl. "That cable connects to something special. But to activate it, you need something green from the garden."

Lily rushed to grab some spinach leaves from her mother's garden. She attached them to the cable with sticky vines and tossed it into the pool.

Suddenly, the pool began to sparkle like diamonds! The water turned into the most beautiful shade of emerald green. Pearl glowed brighter than ever.

"Your wish," Pearl said, "is for magic to touch everyone who swims here. Now, whenever anyone feels sad, they can swim in this pool and feel happy again."

Lily beamed. She had wished for something that would help others, not just herself.

"That," said Pearl, "is the best kind of wish. Because you have a kind heart, the magic will last forever."

That day, Lily learned that the greatest magic isn't in wishes—it's in kindness. And every time she saw those goldfish swimming in their magical pool, she remembered that true magic comes from helping others.
