The Magic Goldfish's Glow
Lily loved her little orange goldfish, Sparkle, who swam in a glass bowl on her nightstand. Every night, Lily would tap on the glass and whisper her secrets. Sparkle would swim closer, his scales shimmering like tiny stars.
One evening, Lily's older brother forgot his iPhone on her desk. The phone began to glow with a strange purple light. Sparkle started swimming frantically, his scales flashing brighter and brighter. Suddenly, a tiny bubble floated from the bowl and popped against the phone's screen.
To Lily's amazement, Sparkle's voice squeaked from the phone! "Lily! The magic is waking up!"
Lily gasped. "You can talk?"
"Only when the purple moon rises," Sparkle explained. "I'm not just a goldfish. I'm a Guardian of Dreams, and I need your help! The Dream Zombie is turning everyone's happy dreams into grumpy gray clouds!"
"A zombie? Like in scary movies?" Lily asked, her eyes wide.
"Not scary at all!" Sparkle promised. "The Dream Zombie is just a lonely cloud creature who forgot how to dream. He needs someone to teach him wonder again."
Lily grabbed her backpack. "I'm ready!"
Using the iPhone's magical glow as a lantern, Lily and Sparkle (who swam in a special travel bubble) journeyed into Dream World. There they found the Dream Zombie—a fluffy gray blob who looked more like a grumpy pillow than anything scary. He was turning beautiful rainbow dreams into gray dust.
"Mr. Zombie!" Lily called out. "Why are you being so grumpy?"
The Dream Zombie slumped. "Nobody ever invited me to play. Nobody shared their dreams with me. So I decided if I couldn't have happy dreams, nobody would!"
Lily sat beside him. "Would you like to see my favorite dream?" She closed her eyes, and the iPhone projected her dream into the sky—flying on a dragon's back over mountains made of chocolate ice cream.
The Dream Zombie's gray fur began to sparkle. "That's... beautiful!" He smiled, and his grayness faded to a cheerful purple. "Thank you for sharing with me!"
Lily learned that day that sometimes, even the grumpiest creatures just need a friend. As she returned to her room, Sparkle winked. "You're a real Guardian now, Lily."
That night, Lily fell asleep with a smile. Her goldfish swam peacefully in his bowl, and somewhere in Dream World, a former zombie was finally having sweet dreams of chocolate mountains and friendly dragons.
