The Magic Garden Surprise
Lily and Max loved exploring their grandmother's backyard. It was no ordinary garden. The **palm** tree in the corner whispered secrets in the breeze, and strange flowers bloomed in colors they'd never seen before.
One sunny afternoon, their **dog** Barnaby started barking at something behind the pumpkin patch. Their **cat** Luna, usually calm, puffed up like a fluffy cloud and hissed.
"What is it?" Lily whispered, grabbing Max's hand.
They peeked through the leaves and saw something amazing. A green figure stumbled between the vegetables, moving slowly and clumsily. It looked like a **zombie** from storybooks—but this one was wearing garden gloves and holding a watering can!
"Excuse me," the creature said in a raspy but friendly voice. "I'm Zeb. I'm the garden keeper."
Zeb wasn't scary at all. His green skin was from eating too much magical **spinach** from the special patch behind the roses.
"This spinach gives me energy to tend the garden," Zeb explained. "But sometimes it makes me move a bit slowly. That's why people think I'm a zombie. But I'm just a very hardworking garden helper!"
Lily and Max couldn't stop laughing. They had been scared of nothing!
"Would you like to see something magical?" Zeb asked.
He led them to the palm tree, where he placed his hand on the trunk. The palm tree's leaves shimmered, and golden coconuts fell gently into their hands. Inside each coconut was a different magic seed—one for friendship, one for courage, and one for kindness.
"Plant these," Zeb said. "They'll grow into something wonderful."
That day, Lily and Max learned that things aren't always what they seem. Sometimes the scariest-looking creatures are actually the kindest, and the best adventures come from being brave enough to look closer.
Barnaby wagged his tail, Luna purred happily, and the children waved goodbye to their new friend Zeb, the magical garden keeper who loved his spinach.
