The Magic Garden Surprise
Lily's golden retriever, Buster, loved to chase butterflies in the garden. But one sunny afternoon, he stopped running and stared at something strange behind the rosebushes.
Lily's orange tabby cat, Mango, crept up beside Buster. Together, they discovered three tiny, gray figures swaying back and forth in the patch of pumpkins. They looked like little zombies from storybooks, but instead of being scary, they were trying to water the flowers with broken watering cans.
"Are you... zombie garden helpers?" Lily asked, kneeling down.
The little zombies nodded sadly. "We're the Zombily family," said the smallest one. "We used to be magical garden sprites, but we lost our magic vitamins. Now we're stuck like this."
Lily gasped. "Magic vitamins? What do they look like?"
"They're glowing berries that grow only on the moonflower plant," explained Zombily Dad. "But they only appear at midnight, and we're too slow to reach them in time."
Buster wagged his tail excitedly. Mango meowed as if to say, "We can help!"
"My dog and cat will be your friends!" Lily exclaimed. "They're fast and smart. Tonight, we'll all work together!"
That night, under the twinkling stars, Buster used his nose to sniff out the sweet scent. Mango's sharp eyes spotted the glowing berries high in the moonflower vine. The zombies held the basket steady while Buster helped Lily climb up to gather the shimmering, purple vitamin-berries.
When the Zombily family ate the magic vitamins, something wonderful happened. Their gray skin turned rosy pink, their eyes sparkled like emeralds, and they began to dance joyfully around the garden.
"We're garden sprites again!" they cheered. "Thank you, our dear friend!"
Lily hugged Buster and Mango. "We learned that everyone needs help sometimes, and true friends will always lend a hand—or a paw!"
From that day on, the magical sprites tended the garden with Buster, Mango, and Lily. And whenever children asked about the strange, happy figures dancing among the flowers, Lily would smile and say, "That's the magic of friendship, turning zombies into friends and strangers into family."
