The Magic Garden Pool
Lily loved visiting her grandmother's house, especially the secret garden behind the old shed. One Saturday afternoon, she discovered something magical—a shimmering blue pool she'd never seen before.
"I found a magic pool!" Lily called, racing inside to find her grandmother.
Grandmother smiled knowingly. "Ah, you've discovered the Crystal Pool. It only appears to children with big imaginations."
Lily's cousin Mateo arrived with his racquet. "Want to play padel?" he asked, but stopped when he saw the glowing water.
"What's that?"
"A magic pool!" Lily exclaimed. She tossed an orange pebble into the water. Instead of splashing, it floated like a tiny boat, then grew into magnificent orange lilies that bloomed instantly.
Mateo's eyes widened. "Try something else!"
Lily tossed in a handful of fresh spinach leaves from grandmother's garden. The pool swirled with green light, and suddenly, little spinach fairies with translucent wings danced above the water, leaving trails of sparkles.
"They're beautiful!" Mateo breathed.
The fairies whispered, "Make a wish!"
Lily thought carefully. "I wish for adventures with my best friend always."
The fairies spun around her and Mateo, and the pool transformed into a portal. They stepped through into a world where every pool led to new adventures—sometimes to candy forests, sometimes to cloud kingdoms. But they always returned to grandmother's garden before dinner.
"What happens if someone stops believing?" Mateo asked later.
"Then the magic fades," Grandmother said gently. "But as long as you keep wondering, keep imagining, the pool will always be here."
That summer, Lily and Mateo had countless adventures. And even when they grew older, they never stopped believing that somewhere, in a secret garden, a magic pool was waiting for children who knew how to wonder.
The best magic, Lily learned, wasn't just in the pool itself. It was in believing that anything is possible when you share it with a friend.
