The Magic Garden Pool
Lily peeked through the fence at her neighbor Mrs. Green's backyard. Something magical was happening there—she just knew it! Every afternoon, Mrs. Green disappeared into her garden, and the most wonderful sparkles floated up above the tall wooden fence.
One Tuesday, Lily found the gate slightly open. Her heart racing, she pushed it open and gasped. In the center of the garden glowed a pool that shimmered like liquid rainbow! But what amazed her most was the garden surrounding it—rows of the most beautiful, emerald-green spinach she had ever seen. Each spinach leaf sparkled as if tiny stars were trapped inside.
"I wondered when you'd discover my secret," Mrs. Green appeared with a warm smile. Her long, silver hair flowed down her back like a waterfall of moonlight. "Would you like to try swimming in my magic pool?"
Lily nodded eagerly, but Mrs. Green shook her head gently. "First, you must understand. This pool only works magic if you've eaten your special spinach. It gives you courage to face what scares you."
Lily wrinkled her nose. She had never liked spinach. But Mrs. Green offered her a sparkling leaf from the garden. Surprisingly, it tasted sweet and sunny, like summer captured in a single bite!
As soon as Lily swallowed, she felt warm and brave throughout her whole body. She stepped into the pool, and suddenly she was swimming—not just regular swimming, but dancing through water like a mermaid! She could breathe underwater and talk to the fish that had appeared.
"Your hair!" Mrs. Green called when Lily surfaced. "Look what happened!"
Lily's brown hair had turned the same beautiful emerald green as the magical spinach! But instead of being scared, she laughed with joy.
"The magic shows everyone what makes you special," Mrs. Green explained. "You found courage to try something new, and now you share its beauty."
From that day on, Lily visited Mrs. Green's garden whenever she needed bravery. She learned that trying new things—even things that seemed scary or strange—could lead to the most wonderful adventures. And every time she ate those special spinach leaves and swam in the magic pool, her emerald hair reminded her that being brave meant being herself.
Sometimes, the most amazing magic comes from the places we least expect to find it.
