The Magic Garden Mystery

Lily loved visiting her grandmother's house. Every Saturday, they would tend to the garden together, growing the most delicious vegetables. But today something extraordinary happened.

Grandma handed Lily a shiny old iPhone she'd found. "It has a special app," Grandma whispered with a wink. "But only use it in the garden."

Curious, Lily tapped the screen. A rainbow swirled across the glass, and suddenly she could hear the plants talking! The tomato was bragging about being so red, and the carrots were discussing who was the longest.

Then she heard a sad, slow voice. "I wish... someone... would play... with me."

Lily followed the sound to the edge of the garden. There, she saw something surprising – a small, green zombie! But this wasn't a scary monster. It was made entirely of spinach leaves, with berry eyes and a gentle smile.

"I'm Zompy," the spinach zombie said slowly. "I was created from magical garden spinach, but everyone runs away when they see me."

Lily's friend Max arrived with his padel racket, ready for their usual Saturday game. When he saw Zompy, his eyes went wide.

"That's amazing!" Max exclaimed instead of running. "Do you want to play?"

Zompy's leafy face lit up. "Really?"

They invented a new game – garden padel, using the racket to gently hit soft flowers back and forth. Zompy wasn't very fast, but he was the best at catching missed shots in his spinach arms.

"I wish I could go swimming with you," Zompy sighed wistfully as they cooled off by the garden pond later. "But I'd fall apart in the water."

Lily had an idea. She opened the magic iPhone app again and discovered something wonderful – a temporary waterproof spell! She tapped Zompy, and his leaves became smooth and sealed.

That afternoon, they all went swimming together, Zompy floating like a happy green boat. The garden had never been so full of laughter.

"Sometimes," Grandma said later, watching them play, "the scariest-looking things are just the loneliest. And friendship is the strongest magic of all."

Lily smiled, hugging her new friend. She knew she had learned something important – never judge someone by how they look, especially when they might just need a friend.

Every Saturday after that, Lily, Max, and Zompy played together in the magical garden. And the spinach zombie was never lonely again.
