The Magic Garden Friend

Mia had the craziest hair in her whole school. It sprang out in every direction, full of bouncy curls that caught the sunlight like golden springs. Her mother called it her "crown of magic," but Mia just thought it was a tangled mess.

Every Tuesday at school lunch, Mia faced her enemy: the green mountain of spinach on her tray. While her friends gobbled it up, Mia pushed it around with her fork, pretending to eat it.

"Don't you want to be strong like Popeye?" her friend Sam teased, flexing his tiny arms.

Mia shook her head so hard her curls bounced. "Spinach is yucky!"

But everything changed when Mia visited her grandmother's garden. Grandma grew the most unusual vegetables – purple carrots, spotted pumpkins, and spinach that shimmered like emerald jewels.

"This isn't ordinary spinach," Grandma whispered, winking. "This is magic spinach. It gives you the power to see what others cannot."

Mia's eyes widened. She took a tiny bite. The spinach burst with sweetness, like sunshine and raindrops mixed together.

Suddenly, her hair began to glow. Each curl sparkled with tiny lights, as if stars had gotten caught in her tangles. The garden around her shimmered with hidden colors.

Then she saw him – a tiny boy with leaf-green skin and hair made of vines, no bigger than her hand. He waved from atop a tomato plant.

"I've been waiting so long for someone to eat the magic spinach!" he chirped, dancing along the garden row. "I'm Finn, and I'm the garden's keeper. Only those who try the special spinach can see me."

Mia gasped. "You're real!"

Finn laughed, spinning in a circle. "Your glowing hair proves you're special, Mia. Now you can be my friend, and together we'll make this garden the most magical place in the world."

From that day on, Mia never complained about spinach again. Every Tuesday, she ate her whole portion, imagining the magic it might hold. And every weekend, she visited Grandma's garden, where her new friend Finn taught her all the secrets of the enchanted vegetables.

Best of all, Mia discovered that her crazy, wild hair was perfect – because only magical hair could glow with stardust for a true friend.
