The Magic Garden Friend
Lily loved visiting her grandma's garden. One day, while exploring behind the old pumpkin patch, she spotted something strange. A small, green figure was shuffling between the carrot rows. It looked like a tiny zombie, but not a scary one — more like a confused little garden spirit.
"Hello?" Lily called softly.
The small figure turned around. It had leafy hair and wore a suit made of spinach leaves! "Oh thank goodness," it said in a squeaky voice. "I'm Zom, and I've been wandering for hours. I'm not really a zombie. I'm a Garden Guardian, but I lost my magic."
Lily pulled out her iPhone. Her grandpa had given her his old one to play with. "Maybe I can help! What kind of magic do you need?"
Zom's eyes lit up. "The Rainbow Vitamin! It's hidden somewhere in this garden. The Rainbow Vitamin gives Garden Guardians their power to help plants grow strong and healthy. Without it, all the vegetables will be weak."
Lily grabbed a handful of fresh spinach from grandma's garden. "Here, have some spinach! It's full of vitamins and might give you some energy while we search."
Zom munched happily. "Yummy! Spinach is my favorite!"
Together, Lily and her new friend searched high and low. They looked under giant cabbage leaves and behind sunflowers. Suddenly, Lily spotted something sparkling near the strawberry patch. A glowing rainbow-colored crystal was nestled among the berries!
"The Rainbow Vitamin!" Zom cheered.
As soon as Zom touched it, he transformed. His spinach suit turned beautiful shades of pink, purple, and gold. Magic sparkles filled the air, and all around them, the garden plants suddenly grew bigger and stronger.
"Thank you, Lily," Zom said, giving her a hug. "You're not just a friend — you're a Garden Hero! Whenever you eat your vegetables, remember: you're eating magic that helps you grow strong too."
Lily smiled, eating a fresh strawberry. She couldn't wait to come back and visit Zom again. Some of the best friendships, she discovered, grow in the most unexpected places.
