The Magic Garden Dream
Bruno the bear loved honey more than anything in the forest. He would climb the tallest trees and stick his paw into beehives, giggling as the bees buzzed around his fuzzy ears. But there was one thing Bruno would never touch—spinach.
"Yucky green leaves!" Bruno would say, wrinkling his nose whenever his mama mentioned it. "Bears don't eat leaves. Bears eat sweet things!"
One sunny morning, Bruno's friend Felix the fox found him sitting by the river, looking sad. "What's wrong, Bruno?" asked Felix, his orange tail swishing happily.
"I had a scary dream last night," Bruno sighed. "I was being chased by shadows, but I couldn't run fast enough. I wish I were braver."
Felix's eyes sparkled. "I know just what you need! My grandmother told me about the Magic Garden beyond the waterfall. The spinach there gives anyone who eats it special courage dreams."
Bruno shook his head. "No way! I'm not eating spinach, magic or not!"
"But don't you want to be brave?" Felix asked gently. "Sometimes the things we think are yucky are actually exactly what we need."
Bruno looked at his reflection in the water. He did want to be brave. "Okay," he whispered. "But you have to try it too."
The two friends journeyed to the secret garden, where emerald spinach leaves glowed with tiny golden lights. Bruno picked one leaf, held his nose, and gulped it down. To his surprise, it tasted sweet like honey! Felix ate one too, and they both fell asleep under a rainbow of butterflies.
That night, Bruno dreamed he was flying over mountains, stronger than any bear had ever been. When he woke, he felt different—braver somehow.
"The magic worked!" Bruno cheered, hugging his friend. "And you know what? Spinach isn't so bad after all."
Felix smiled. "That's the secret, Bruno. Sometimes the bravest thing you can do is try something new."
From that day on, Bruno became the bravest bear in the forest, not because he was big or strong, but because he was brave enough to try new things—even green leafy ones.
