The Magic Friendship Vitamin
Lily loved her pet goldfish, Finley. He was the most beautiful fish in the world, with scales like tiny pieces of sunset orange and white. Every morning, she would tap gently on his bowl and say, "Good morning, Finley!" and he would always swim to the top and wiggle his tail as if he understood.
One day, Finley didn't wiggle. He just floated at the bottom of his bowl, looking very sad indeed. Lily's mom came in and said, "Oh dear, Finley looks like he needs a special fish vitamin!" She dropped a tiny green tablet into the water. Finley didn't even look at it.
That night, Lily couldn't sleep. She tiptoed to Finley's bowl and whispered, "Are you lonely, Finley?" Finley swam up suddenly and did something extraordinary — he BUBBLED at her! Three perfect bubbles, like tiny crystal balls. The third bubble didn't pop. Instead, it grew bigger and bigger until it was large enough for a small person to fit inside.
Lily's heart raced with excitement. Was she dreaming? She poked the bubble, and it felt solid but soft, like jelly. Finley swam right through the bubble's wall and looked back at her, as if to say, "Come swimming!"
Lily took a deep breath and stepped through the bubble. Whoosh! Suddenly, she was tiny, no bigger than Finley himself, and she was swimming right beside him in the most magical underwater world she could imagine. The fishbowl wasn't just a fishbowl anymore — it was an entire ocean kingdom! Other goldfish were there too, all different colors, playing tag and hide-and-seek among coral castles and seashell palaces.
"I brought the friendship vitamin!" Lily called, holding up the tiny green tablet she'd brought with her. But as she swam among Finley's new friends, she discovered something magical: the real friendship vitamin wasn't a pill at all. It was playing together, laughing together, and having someone to share adventures with.
Finley wasn't sick. He was just lonely! And now that Lily had joined his underwater world, he had plenty of friends.
Lily swam and played until the bubble began to shrink. She hugged Finley goodbye and promised to visit every night. Back in her room, she looked at Finley's bowl and saw something new — two more goldfish swimming happily with him.
Sometimes the best medicine isn't a vitamin at all. Sometimes, friendship is the most powerful magic in the world.
