The Magic Cable Pool
Lily loved summer days. She loved the warm sun on her face and the cool breeze in her hair. Most of all, she loved swimming in her backyard pool.
One Tuesday, while cleaning leaves from the pool, Lily spotted something strange. A thick orange cable was snaking through the grass, disappearing into the bushes beside the pool fence.
"What's this?" Lily wondered. She had never seen this cable before. It glowed softly in the sunlight.
She followed the cable through the bushes, past her neighbor's fence, and into the small wooded area behind her house. The cable grew brighter as she walked deeper into the woods.
Suddenly, Lily stopped. In a clearing, she found a magical pool she had never seen before. It wasn't a regular swimming pool—it was a natural pool with crystal blue water, surrounded by glowing orange flowers. The orange cable led right to the water's edge.
"Hello there!" said a voice.
Lily jumped. A small green frog sat on a lily pad in the center of the pool.
"I'm Finnegan," the frog said. "Welcome to the Friendship Pool. The orange cable appears only when someone with a kind heart needs a friend."
Lily's eyes widened. "A friend?"
"Yes," Finnegan said. "Every summer, the magic cable guides one special child to this pool. Here, you can swim with new friends and learn important lessons."
Lily dipped her toes in the water. It felt like liquid sunshine. Soon, she was swimming alongside turtles, fish, and other frogs. They played games and shared stories.
"What's the lesson?" Lily asked as she floated on her back.
Finnegan hopped onto her stomach. "The cable is orange because it represents warmth, kindness, and connection. True friends are like this cable—they guide you to wonderful places."
Lily smiled. She had never felt so happy.
When it was time to leave, the orange cable faded away. But Lily knew she would never forget the magical pool or her new friends.
That summer, Lily learned that friendship is the greatest magic of all. And sometimes, the most wonderful adventures begin with following something unexpected—even a mysterious orange cable.
