The Magic Cable Garden

Lily discovered something wonderful in her grandmother's attic. It wasn't treasure or gold, but something magical—a glowing white **cable** that seemed to shimmer with rainbow light when she touched it.

"What does this do?" Lily wondered aloud, tracing the cable with her finger.

To her surprise, the cable began to grow longer and longer, stretching out the window and into her backyard garden. Lily followed it, her heart beating fast with excitement.

The cable coiled around the old apple tree, and suddenly—POOF! Two animals appeared. A friendly brown **bull** with golden horns and a curious black **bear** with sparkling eyes.

"Hello!" said the bull, whose name was Barnaby. "I've been waiting for someone to find the Magic Friendship Cable."

"It only appears to children with big imaginations," added the bear, whose name was Bella.

Lily couldn't believe it! Real magical friends! But then she remembered—her **iPhone** was in her pocket, and she'd been spending all afternoon playing games on it instead of exploring.

"I almost missed meeting you because I was staring at a screen," Lily said sadly.

Barnaby the bull smiled wisely. "Technology is wonderful, but real magic happens when you look up at the world. The cable connects hearts, not just devices."

Bella the bear nodded. "Would you like to see real adventures?"

Lily put her phone away. "Yes! Please!"

That afternoon, they had the most wonderful adventures. They had tea parties with fairies, chased butterflies through meadows, and helped a lost bird find its nest. Lily learned that the best connections aren't the ones you plug in—they're the friendships you make when you're truly present.

As the sun began to set, the magical cable faded away, but Barnaby and Bella remained.

"We'll always be your friends," Bella promised. "Whenever you need us, just close your eyes and imagine."

Lily ran inside to tell her grandmother everything. And from that day on, she used her iPhone to take pictures of her real adventures—but never instead of having them.
