The Magic Cable Connection
Lily was swimming in her backyard pool when something extraordinary happened. A small goldfish with shimmering orange scales popped its head above the water.
"Hello, my friend!" the goldfish said in a bubbly voice.
Lily rubbed her eyes. "You can talk?"
"Only when the magic is right," Goldie explained. "And today, I need your help. Someone has stolen the Magic Cable that connects all the pools in the world!"
Lily's eyes widened. "But why would anyone want a cable?"
"This isn't just any cable," Goldie said. "It's made of moonlight and ocean sparkles. It lets fish visit each other's pools, sharing stories and games. Without it, we're all stuck swimming alone."
"Who took it?" Lily asked, already climbing out of the water.
"The Crabby Crab King," Goldie said. "He lives in the big pond behind the old tennis courts. He has a magical padel racket that can knock anything far away. He knocked our cable into his treasure chest!"
Lily grabbed her goggles. "Let's go get it back!"
They snuck to the pond, where they saw the Crabby Crab King sleeping beside a glittering chest. The magic cable glowed inside it, illuminating the water with rainbow colors.
"How do we get it?" Lily whispered.
Goldie smiled. "Watch this." She swam close to the crab and blew a stream of bubbles. *Bubble, bubble, POP!*
The Crabby Crab King woke up startled. "What was that?"
While he was distracted, Lily noticed his magical padel racket leaning against a rock. She had an idea.
"Play with me!" Lily called out. "I bet I can beat you at padel!"
The crab laughed. "A human beating me? Impossible!"
They played, and Lily noticed that every time the crab hit the ball with his magical padel racket, his grip loosened. On the final point, she hit the ball so hard that the racket flew from his claws—and landed right next to the treasure chest!
"Oh no!" the crab cried.
But instead of grabbing the racket, Lily reached for the magic cable. "Found it!"
The Crabby Crab King sighed. "I suppose I was lonely. I wanted friends to visit my pond too."
Goldie swam up. "Then why didn't you just ask? The magic cable connects us all—you were already part of it!"
The crab's eyes widened. "Really?"
Goldie nodded. "Being a friend means sharing, not taking. Would you like to play padel with us properly?"
"Yes!" the crab cheered.
That day, Lily learned that the strongest connections aren't made of cables—they're made of kindness. And every summer evening, if you look carefully, you can still see Goldie the goldfish swimming between pools, carrying stories and friendship to everyone she meets.
