The Magic Cable Car to Cloud Pool

Lily and Max lived in a small house at the bottom of the biggest mountain in their valley. Every day at sunset, they watched the old cable car creak and sway up the steep rocks, disappearing into the clouds.

"Where does it go?" Lily asked, bouncing on her toes.

"Nobody knows," said Grandma. "Some places stay secret until you're ready to find them."

One afternoon, the children heard a bell: *Ding! Ding! Ding!* The cable car had stopped right behind their house! Its door swung open, and a voice floated out like music: "Ready for adventure?"

Lily and Max scrambled inside. The cable car lifted them higher and higher, past birds and clouds, until suddenly—*whoosh!*—they burst through into a magical hidden valley.

There, sparkling under three suns, was the most beautiful swimming pool they had ever seen. The water glowed pink and gold, and floating on it were magical paddles that moved by themselves.

"Welcome!" cried Padel, a furry purple creature with three eyes and the biggest smile. "I've been waiting so long for friends to play with!"

Padel taught them his special game: hitting a glowing ball back and forth across the magical pool. But this game was different from any they'd played before.

"In padel," Padel said, "the score doesn't matter. What matters is keeping the ball flying together. If it drops, we both lose. If it stays up, we both win."

Lily served the ball. Max returned it. Padel laughed and bounded across the water. Back and forth, round and round—they played until the three suns began to set.

"We have to go!" said Max, pointing at the cable car.

"Will we see you again?" Padel asked, his three eyes shining.

"Every sunset!" Lily promised. "Being friends is the best adventure of all!"

As the cable car carried them home, Lily and Max held hands. They had discovered something more magical than any hidden valley: some games aren't about winning at all—they're about playing together.

And from that day on, every sunset, *Ding! Ding! Ding!* The cable car would arrive to take them to their friend in the clouds, where they learned that the real magic was friendship, floating on every hit of the glowing ball.
