The Magic Cable Car

Lily loved the old cable car that rattled past her bedroom window every evening. It looked like a flying house with sparkling lights. One moonlit night, she saw something magical—a tiny glow flying from the cable car and landing in her garden!

She ran outside and found a teddy **bear with golden wings!** The bear twinkled and spoke in a whispery voice. "I'm Benny! I need your help. My friend is stuck in the Shadow Forest, and I'm too small to rescue him!"

Lily's eyes grew wide. "I'll help! But how?"

"The magic **cable**!" Benny explained. "It connects our worlds. If you hold my paw and wish with all your heart, we can travel there!"

Lily held Benny's fuzzy paw tight and closed her eyes. WHOOSH! They were flying through sparkles, landing in a forest where the trees glowed purple and blue.

There they saw him—a small green creature who looked like a **zombie** but with kind eyes and a flower crown. He was trapped in a bush of thorny vines!

"That's Zed!" Benny cried. "Everyone thinks he's scary because he's green and shuffle-walks, but he's the gentlest soul ever! He grows moonflowers for all the forest creatures!"

Lily wasn't scared at all. "Hi Zed! I'm Lily. Let me help you!" She carefully pulled apart the thorny vines until Zed was free.

"Thank you!" Zed said, giving her a beautiful moonflower. "I was scared no one would ever help me because of how I look."

"That's silly!" Lily said. "My mom says true friends see with their hearts, not their eyes."

The three friends danced under the glowing stars until the cable car appeared to take Lily home.

"Visit us anytime!" Benny and Zed called together.

Back in her room, Lily kept the moonflower on her nightstand. She had learned something wonderful—sometimes the scariest-looking creatures make the best friends, and real magic happens when you're brave enough to be kind.
