The Magic Beach Friend
Lily loved the old palm tree at the edge of Blue Beach. Its leaves whispered secrets in the wind, and she liked to sit beneath it, watching the waves.
One hot afternoon, Lily's curly hair tickled her neck as she leaned against the palm trunk. Suddenly, something splashed in the water nearby. She ran to see what it was.
There, swimming in the crystal blue sea, was the most amazing creature she'd ever seen. It looked like a bull, but not like the ones in books. This bull shimmered like moonlight, its fur glittering with tiny pearls. Instead of horns, it had two beautiful spirals made of coral.
The magical bull noticed Lily watching. It swam closer to shore and emerged from the water, dripping with seaweed.
"Hello," said the bull. "I've been swimming here for a hundred years, and you're the first human who's ever seen me."
Lily's eyes grew wide. "You can talk!"
"Of course," the bull said with a gentle smile. "My name is Coralus. I'm a Sea Bull. I guard the ocean and keep the waters clean for all the swimming creatures."
From that day on, Lily visited Coralus every summer. They became the best of friends. She would sit on the beach while he told her stories about underwater kingdoms, singing fish, and dancing dolphins. Sometimes, he even let her ride on his back as he swam through the waves, her hair flying in the sea breeze.
"Why are you so special?" Lily asked once.
Coralus touched his coral horns gently. "Every creature has magic inside them. The trick is finding it and using it to help others."
Lily looked at her own hands and thought about what magic she might have. Maybe kindness was magic too.
Years passed, and Lily grew up, but she never forgot her magical friend. And every time she saw a palm tree swaying in the wind or heard waves splashing on the shore, she smiled, remembering that magic is real, and the best friends are the ones who surprise you.
The palm tree still stands at Blue Beach, and if you listen carefully on quiet summer days, you might hear Coralus splashing in the waves, still swimming and still looking for a friend who believes in magic.
