The Lonely Zombie's Secret

Lily loved exploring her grandmother's magical garden, especially the giant palm tree that towered over everything else. One afternoon, while chasing butterflies, she spotted something strange beneath the fronds—a sad, green creature with messy hair and patchwork clothes.

"I'm Zed," the creature mumbled. "I'm a zombie, but not the scary kind. I'm just... lonely."

Lily wasn't scared at all. She noticed Zed looked tired and droopy, like wilted spinach. "What's wrong?" she asked kindly.

"I haven't eaten anything magical in days," Zed sighed. "In our world, zombies need enchanted vegetables to feel happy and strong. Regular food doesn't work."

Lily's eyes widened with excitement. She remembered her grandmother grew the most magical spinach in the whole garden—leaves that sparkled like tiny stars when the moon came out. "Follow me!"

She led Zed to a secret corner of the garden where emerald leaves glimmered softly. "Try this!" Lily said, handing him a handful of the sparkling spinach.

Zed took a careful bite—and suddenly, his eyes brightened! He stood taller, his patches became colorful, and a big grin spread across his face. "I feel wonderful!" he cheered.

Just then, Lily's pocket began to chime. Her iPhone, which she'd brought to take pictures of butterflies, glowed with a magical purple light. "Grandma's garden magic!" Lily gasped. The phone showed a message: 'TRUE FRIENDS FEED THE SOUL.'

Zed laughed, a sound like jingle bells. "That's the lesson! Zombies aren't scary—we're just magical beings who need the right food and good friends. And you, Lily, have the kindest heart."

From that day on, Lily visited Zed every week. They planted more magical spinach together, shared stories under the palm tree, and learned that the best magic of all is friendship. Sometimes, the scariest-looking creatures just need someone to see past their outside and find the wonder within.
