The Little Spy Who Loved Colors

Emma lived in a house painted the color of sunshine. Her room was filled with treasures: smooth stones, ribbons, and one very mysterious visitor. Every afternoon, a tiny creature no bigger than her thumb peeked through her window. Emma called him the Little Spy.

The Little Spy wasn't a secret agent. He was just curious. His scales sparkled like rainbow glitter, and his eyes were huge and wondering. One day, Emma discovered his secret. He didn't spy on people. He spied on beautiful things.

"I saw the most amazing orange today!" the Little Spy chirped, bouncing on Emma's windowsill. "It was growing in Mrs. Green's garden. It looked like a tiny sun!" Emma laughed and handed him a mandarin orange from her lunch bag. The Little Spy's eyes widened. He took tiny bites, and his scales turned even more sparkly.

The next day, Emma found him looking sad. "I saw something green and curly in the garden. The big kids said it's yucky. They called it spinach." Emma's grandmother had taught her about vegetables. She ran to the kitchen and came back with a fresh spinach leaf. "Try it," she whispered.

The Little Spy nibbled cautiously. Then his eyes lit up. "It tastes like rain and earth and magic!" he exclaimed. He did a happy dance, his glittery scales flashing purple and green.

That afternoon, Emma had an idea. She and the Little Spy became kindness spies together. They spied on neighbors who needed help. They left orange slices on Mrs. Green's porch when she was tired. They shared spinach leaves with the rabbits who lived near the garden.

The best spies, Emma learned, were the ones who spied for kindness. And sometimes, the most wonderful discoveries came in unexpected packages—even green and curly ones.
