The Lightning Who Wanted to Swim
In the fluffy kingdom above the clouds, there lived a little lightning bolt named Zap. Unlike all the other lightning bolts, Zap wasn't bright yellow or blinding white. He was a beautiful, shimmering orange.
"Why am I different?" Zap would wonder, watching his siblings flash across stormy skies in brilliant white streaks. "Nobody else looks like a sunset."
One evening, Zap noticed something strange hanging from the edge of Cloud Kingdom—a long, silvery cable that disappeared into the ocean far below. Being curious and brave, he wrapped himself around the cable and slid down, down, down until he reached the sparkling blue sea.
There, swimming in the glowing waves, were creatures he had never seen before. Fish with scales like rainbows, turtles with shells full of tiny stars, and seahorses that danced through the water like floating ribbons.
"Look! A swimming lightning bolt!" squealed a tiny purple fish. "And he's orange as coral!"
Zap gasped. In Cloud Kingdom, his orange color had made him feel like an outsider. But here, the sea creatures gathered around him with wide, wondering eyes.
"You're beautiful!" said an ancient sea turtle. "Your glow warms the water like no lightning we've ever seen."
For the first time, Zap felt proud of his special color. He spent the whole evening swimming with his new friends, lighting up the deep ocean where no light could reach. He showed the fish what lightning looked like, and they showed him the secret dances of the deep.
When morning came, Zap slid back up his silver cable to the sky, but he wasn't sad anymore. He realized that being different wasn't wrong—it just meant he hadn't found where he belonged yet.
Now, whenever there's a storm, you might spot an orange lightning bolt zigzagging across the sky. That's Zap, heading to visit his ocean friends. And if you're lucky, you might see him light up the whole sea, proving that being different is what makes you magical.
