The Lightning Who Loved the Ocean

High above the clouds lived a tiny lightning bolt named Sparkle. Unlike the other bolts who loved flashing and crashing across stormy skies, Sparkle was shy and quiet. Every night, she peeked through the clouds to watch the ocean below, dreaming of something impossible.

"I wish I could go swimming," she whispered, her glow soft as a candle. "The water looks like dancing diamonds."

One evening, an orange seagull named Mango flew by and heard her sigh. "Little bolt," he called, "why are you sad?"

"I want to swim," Sparkle admitted. "But lightning fizzles in water. Everyone knows that."

Mango landed beside her on a fluffy cloud. "Not everyone! My friend Marina is special. Come meet her!"

Curious, Sparkle followed Mango down through the misty clouds until they reached the beach. There, glowing in the moonlight, was an orange sea turtle with a shell that shimmered like sunset. "Hello!" Marina said kindly. "I was born with magic inside me. When I was a baby, a star fell into the ocean and gave me a special gift—I can carry friends while I swim!"

Sparkle's eyes widened. "Even a lightning bolt?"

"Especially lightning bolts," Marina laughed. "My grandmother said lightning is nature's vitamin for the ocean. It gives energy to all the sea creatures!"

Mango nudged Sparkle forward. "Try it!"

Trembling with excitement, Sparkle settled onto Marina's back. As they swam deeper, something magical happened. Sparkle didn't fizzle at all—instead, her light grew warm and golden, spreading through the water like tiny stars. Fish gathered around, dancing in her glow.

"You're right!" Sparkle cried, watching a baby octopus play in her light. "I'm like a swimming vitamin for the sea!"

Every night after that, Sparkle and Marina went swimming together. And sometimes, if you look carefully during a storm, you might see a golden light beneath the waves—that's Sparkle, the littlest lightning bolt who found her perfect place, and learned that being different just means you haven't found your friends yet.

The other lightning bolts still flash and crash above, but Sparkle found something brighter: she brings light to the deep blue sea, where friendship glows even in the darkest waters.
