The Lightning Water Promise

Luna loved summer storms. When the sky turned dark and rumbling began, she would press her nose against the window, counting seconds between flashes. One evening, while playing by the pond behind her house, tiny raindrops started falling. Splash, splash, splash! The water rippled around her sneakers.

Suddenly, brilliant lightning flashed across the sky—CRACK! The thunder shook the ground. Luna's old iPhone slipped from her pocket and splashed into the pond. "Oh no!" she cried, reaching into the cool water. But something magical happened.

Where the lightning had struck a nearby tree, tiny sparks danced across the water's surface. The floating iPhone began to glow, not from damage, but with soft blue light that pulsed like a heartbeat. Luna gasped as a small face appeared in the screen—not a glitch, but a tiny water spirit with flowing silver hair and eyes like deep pools.

"Thank you," the spirit whispered. "The lightning magic woke me from a hundred-year sleep. Your phone opened the door between our worlds."

Luna's eyes widened. "You're real?"

The spirit smiled. "Real as rain, as lightning, as friendship itself. I am Neri, guardian of this pond. The lightning chose you to help me remember my purpose—to protect all water so children like you can always splash, play, and dream."

Every storm after that, Luna would visit the pond. Her iPhone never worked like before, but it became something better: a magical window to visit Neri, who taught her about the water cycle, how raindrops travel from clouds to earth and back again, and how every drop connects everyone.

Luna learned that magic exists everywhere—in lightning flashes, in rainy days, even in old things that seem broken. Some of the best adventures begin with a splash and a spark.

Now whenever storms roll through, Luna doesn't just count lightning. She smiles, knowing her friend Neri is dancing in the rain, keeping promises made in a magical moment between sky, water, and a curious heart.
