The Lightning Storm's Secret Gift
Emma loved baseball more than anything. Every Saturday, she played with her golden retriever, Buster, who would chase every ball she hit. One afternoon, as Emma swung her bat, the sky suddenly turned dark purple. A flash of lightning split the sky — CRACK! — but it wasn't ordinary lightning. It sparkled with tiny rainbow colors, like someone had spilled glitter across the clouds.
Buster barked excitedly and ran toward the old oak tree where the lightning had struck. Emma chased after him, and what she found made her gasp. Where the lightning had hit the ground, there was now a glowing crystal pyramid, small enough to hold in her hand.
When Emma touched it, the pyramid warmed her palm like a fresh-baked cookie. Suddenly, a giant bear emerged from behind the tree — but this wasn't a scary bear. He was made entirely of soft blue light, with twinkling stars for eyes.
"You found my lost pyramid," the bear rumbled gently. "I am Orion, guardian of the Storm Dreams. Every lightning bolt carries a dream from the sky, and your pyramid caught the most special one of all."
Emma asked what dream was inside. Orion smiled and touched the pyramid with his glowing nose. It projected a hologram into the air — Emma saw herself playing baseball with all the kids in her neighborhood, even the ones who usually sat alone watching.
"The dream is about kindness," Orion explained. "True champions include everyone. Lightning is powerful, but friendship? That's the strongest magic of all."
Emma understood. She invited every lonely kid she knew to join her baseball games. Buster became their team mascot, and whenever lightning flashed during summer storms, Emma would wave at the sky, knowing Orion was watching and smiling.
The crystal pyramid stayed on her nightstand, glowing softly every night, reminding her that the best kind of winning is when everyone plays together.
