The Lightning Spy Club
Leo peered through his binoculars, the best spy in the neighborhood. His clubhouse had a sign: SECRET AGENTS ONLY. Today, his best friends Mia and Sam had important news.
"Lightning's coming!" Mia pointed at the dark sky. But this wasn't ordinary lightning. It sparkled PURPLE and PINK.
"Maybe it's magic," Sam whispered. "We should investigate."
The three friends grabbed their gear — Leo's spy notebook, Mia's magnifying glass, and Sam's lucky baseball glove. They crept toward the old garden shed where strange lights flashed.
Suddenly, something groaned inside. A ZOMBIE!
Leo froze. "Should we run?"
But the zombie stumbled out and it was just their grumpy neighbor Mr. Higgins wearing gardening clothes covered in mud and leaves.
"Just doing some planting," he grumbled, holding a strange paddle-shaped racket.
"What's that?" Mia asked.
"For PADEL," Mr. Higgins explained. "It's like tennis and squash combined. Want me to teach you?"
The purple lightning flashed again, and something magical happened. Mr. Higgins's old shed transformed into a shiny court!
"First," Mr. Higgins said, "you need to practice hand-eye coordination." He tossed Sam a baseball. "Hit it into that bucket."
Sam swung his baseball glove and caught it instead. Everyone laughed.
"We learned something important today," Leo wrote in his spy notebook. "Things that seem scary might just be misunderstood. And sometimes, the best adventures happen when lightning strikes."
They played padel until the purple storm passed, becoming not just spies, but the Lightning Club — friends who knew that magic appears when you least expect it, especially with baseball gloves, binoculars, and an open heart.
