The Lightning Sprite's Gift

Lily loved thunderstorms. While other children hid under blankets, she pressed her nose against the window glass, watching the sky dance with streaks of brightness. One rainy evening, something incredible happened.

A tiny creature no bigger than a strawberry tumbled through the open window! It had sparkly blue skin and the wildest, frizziest **hair** Lily had ever seen — each strand glowed like a miniature bolt of **lightning**. The little sprite shook itself and looked up at Lily with enormous eyes.

"Oh thank goodness!" the sprite squeaked. "I fell from my cloud! I'm Zappy, and I need to get back home before the storm ends!"

Lily gently cupped Zappy in her **palm**. The sprite's skin tingled against her hand, like touching a fuzzy peach. "I'll help you!" Lily promised.

They climbed to the roof just as the biggest thunderclap yet rumbled across the sky. Zappy pointed to the darkest cloud. "That's my home! But I can't fly up alone — I need someone to believe in magic."

Lily closed her eyes tight. "I believe," she whispered. "I believe in lightning sprites and storm magic and impossible things!"

Zappy's **hair** flared brilliant gold. Lily felt her whole body lift, lighter than a dandelion seed. Together, they soared into the cloud kingdom, where hundreds of lightning sprites danced through silver rain.

"You helped me," Zappy said, pressing something into Lily's hand before she floated back down. "Now you have a piece of storm magic too."

Lily looked at her **palm**. A tiny lightning-shaped mark shimmered there, glowing faintly whenever storms approached.

From that day on, Lily was never just a storm watcher. She was its friend, with a special connection to the sky and a tiny sprite who sometimes visited, bringing stories from the clouds. And every time lightning flashed across the sky, Lily waved, knowing Zappy was waving back.

The greatest adventures, Lily learned, come when you're brave enough to help someone in need — even if they're tiny, glowing, and fell from the sky.
