The Lightning Sphinx's Magical Hat
Lily loved her grandmother's attic. Every summer, she discovered treasures there. But today was special.
Behind an old trunk, she found something glowing. It was a small sphinx statue, no bigger than her hand, wearing a tiny blue hat. Lightning flashed through the attic window, and the sphinx blinked!
"Hello, friend!" said the sphinx, stretching her stone wings. "I am Cleo. My magical hat protects us from scary storms."
Lily's eyes widened. "You're alive!"
"Only when lightning wakes me," Cleo explained. "Will you help me? My best friend Bear is scared of the thunder. He hides in the garden."
Outside, rain pattered. Lightning crackled across the purple sky. Lily held Cleo carefully. Together, they tiptoed to the garden.
There, beneath the rosebushes, sat a stuffed bear with one ear. He was trembling.
"Bear!" Cleo flew over. "It's okay! Lily and I are here."
The bear looked up. He wasn't stuffed at all — he was a real bear, small and fuzzy with gentle eyes.
"I don't like the loud noises," Bear whispered.
"My magical hat can help!" Cleo said proudly. The tiny blue hat began to glow, spinning slowly. Soft music filled the air — like gentle bells. The lightning turned from scary to beautiful, dancing like golden ribbons.
Bear stopped shaking. "That's beautiful."
The three friends watched the storm together. Lily held Bear's paw while Cleo perched on her shoulder. The lightning became a light show just for them.
"True friends stand together through storms," Cleo said wisely. "That's the strongest magic."
When morning came, the sphinx gave Lily her magical hat. "Keep it. You're a brave friend."
Lily wore it home, wondering what other adventures waited. She had two new friends, a magical hat, and a special secret — lightning wasn't scary anymore. It was just nature saying hello.
